Magnetic COFs as satisfactory support for lipase immobilization and recovery to effectively achieve the production of biodiesel by maintenance of enzyme activity

Abstract Background Production of biodiesel from renewable sources such as inedible vegetable oils by enzymatic catalysis has been a hotspot but remains challenge on the efficient use an enzyme. COFs (Covalent Organic Frameworks) with large surface area and porosity can be applied ideal support to avoid aggregation lipase methanol. However, naturally low density limits its application. In this work, we reported facile synthesis core–shell magnetic COF composite (Fe 3 O 4 @COF-OMe) immobilize RML ( Rhizomucor miehei lipase), achieve utilization in production. Result This strategy gives extrinsic property, is much heavier could disperse water medium well, facilitating attachment The resultant biocomposite exhibited excellent capacity due high fast response external field, well good chemical stability. COF-OMe structure not only achieved highly immobilization recovery processes also maintained activity great extent. RML@Fe @COF-OMe performed practical applications, while free did not. successfully production Jatropha curcas Oil yield about 70% optimized conditions.
